Dr. Tiffany Son attended the University of Arizona, in Tucson, earning her Bachelor of Science with a double major in Biochemistry and Biophysics and Molecular and Cellular Biology and her Master of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology, and Doctor of Medicine degrees. Dr. Son completed her bariatric/advanced GI fellowship at Banner Gateway, Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Son is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons, Arizona Chapter of American College of Surgeons, Association of Women in Surgery, Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract Society of Asian Academic Surgeons. My bf, Nick Taylor had Dr Son do his hernia surgery as well. I remember everything went well during and after surgery. I have so many more chronic conditions than he had though including obesity, emphysema, one and a quarter lung's remaining after Valley fever. Dr Son was concerned that I go to my same day appointment as scheduled, get labs done, and wanted me to be as healthy as possible for the upcoming surgery. To prepare for it as I would a marathon. I'm just barely able to get through the day with my hiatal hernia getting worse. Then I have these other symptoms pop up on top of that. I'm scared.

I was very, very grateful to the staff/Dr Son for taking my concerns seriously and scheduling me ASAP for the telehealth appointment even though Dr Son was so busy. Ironically I have new symptoms this week before my surgery next Tues. I just tried calling @ 6:55 am, will try again @ 8 am. I know it's better to be safe than sorry. I see my PCP today at 4 pm as well. I'm having moderate pain under both my upper ls rib cage and rs rib cage. The rs also has flank pain on the back of my ribcage. Idk if it's lung's, pancreas, gallbladder etc.? Idk what to do with surgery next week!

Dr Son provided me with an excellent description of my hiatal hernia surgery from beginning to end and recovery. I feel less anxious and motivated to continue losing weight and healing once I have the surgery. Dr Son did my boyfriend Nick Taylor's hernia surgery which went well. Unfortunately he died of COPD this past memorial day. I'm fortunate to have his surgeon Dr Son.

Dr Son was very compassionate in delivering "bad" news. She immediately sent a referral to Dr James Warneke at Banner UA Cancer Center as he is the expert in sarcomas. She had referrals at the ready for me to pick up so I could get imaging studies done that he would need. I couldn't have asked for a more respectful and efficient provider. I truly appreciated what she did to get me the care I needed asap. She's terrific!

Amazing staff DJ, Morgan, Dr Son, Dr for anesthesia, and *please please please forgive me* the other two AMAZING RN on my team ( I love you both I'm so so so sorry I forgot your names) everyone was PHENOMENAL. My aunt retired from St Joe's, ive NEVER DOUBTED their competency or their dedication to going ABOVE AND BEYOND. Especially, on the outpatient surgical unit.
